Lawtech Startup Ecosystem in Hong Kong - Introducing LegalAI Solutions

Join us on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at HKU Law for an exclusive seminar to learn more about Hong Kong’s lawtech startup ecosystem from two local founders who are introducing LegalAI specifically for the Hong Kong legal profession.

The seminar will discuss:

• Lawtech ecosystem in Hong Kong especially from a startup founder’s perspective

• LegalAI opportunities and challenges for the legal profession

• Brief demos of LegalAI platforms from Hong Kong Lawtech startups on various legal use cases such as Hong Kong law legal research, contract review, patent analysis, contract creation etc.

Speakers:

Jack Shing is founder of D-Engraver Limited, and is an entrepreneur focussed on blockchain and generative AI, including its new lawintellichain product for the legal profession. (Remarks: Jack was absent at the last minute due to illness).

Ron Yu is director and co-founder of Makebell Ltd., which specializes in building AI agents for professional applications. Trained as a lawyer, he also teaches postgraduate classes in patent law at CityU and Regtech at CUHK.

Moderator: Brian Tang, Principal Professional Practitioner & Founding Executive Director, LITE Lab@HKU, The University of Hong Kong. Brian is also co-chair of the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association and is a member of the Department of Justice’s Consutlation Group on Lawtech Development.
